About the Role Union Organizer Internal - Security-based role with SEIU-USWW, based in Alameda, CA, supporting organizing efforts for security workers. This position is part of SEIU United Service Workers West and focuses on mobilizing and organizing employees within the security/safety sector. What You'll Do
- Develop relationships with security officers and property service workers to assess organizing needs and opportunities.
- Plan and execute organizing campaigns, including member outreach, meetings, and member education.
- Collaborate with coalition partners and union staff to advance campaigns and negotiate with employers where appropriate.
- Mobilize members for actions, trainings, and elections, maintaining accurate records of activities and dues.
- Represent the union in community and workplace settings to promote membership growth and engagement. What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience in labor organizing or community organizing (security or service industries preferred).
- Strong communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate and mobilize diverse groups.
- Ability to travel within the region and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Commitment to social justice, racial and gender equity, and worker rights. Nice to Have
- Prior union organizing experience with SEIU or similar unions.
- Fluency in Spanish or other languages commonly used by workers in the area. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $79,776.20 - $88,790.73 per year.
