Are you interested in a dynamic career where you can leverage data, technology, and artificial intelligence to make a meaningful business impact? The Underwriting Systems & Analytics team has an exciting Co-op opportunity for you for Spring 2027!

When you join FM as an Underwriting Systems & Analytics Co-op, you will have the opportunity to work at the intersection of business, data, and technology. You will gain exposure to underwriting operations, analytics, reporting, and emerging technologies while working alongside experienced professionals across multiple business functions.

Our team supports underwriting through data analytics, reporting, and process optimization. This co-op position will provide the successful candidate with hands-on experience working with operational and analytical data, identifying process improvements, and exploring innovative applications of artificial intelligence. A key focus of this role will be helping modernize and enhance data processes through the use of AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies.

Through this co-op experience, you will gain practical experience with business intelligence, data analysis, workflow improvement, and technology-driven problem solving while collaborating with stakeholders across Underwriting, Operations, and Information Technology. If you enjoy solving complex problems, analyzing data, and exploring new technologies, we will put your analytical, organizational, and communication skills to use.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Insurance/Risk Management, or a related field; however, candidates from other academic backgrounds with relevant skills or experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to work full time during the Spring internship and commute to the assigned office location throughout the internship.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; good analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and interest in leveraging technology and artificial intelligence to solve business problems.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify opportunities for improvement, and present recommendations in a clear and meaningful way.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and SQL.
  • Exposure to artificial intelligence tools, including agentic AI, machine learning concepts, or automation technologies is preferred.
