Job title: Underwriter II, Energy
About the Role Underwriter II, Energy focuses on underwriting new and renewal business to support profitable growth in the Power and Utility segment. You will assess risk through broker conversations, coordinate with subject matter experts, and review claims history and company information to ensure accurate and timely underwriting decisions. Build and maintain strong broker relationships to deliver excellent service and grow the book of business.
What You'll Do
- Underwrite new and renewal business for the Power and Utility segment.
- Assess risk via broker conversations, coordination with subject matter experts, and review of claims history and company information.
- Maintain and expand broker relationships, provide timely underwriting service, and participate in broker events to generate new business in line with sales plans.
- Prepare accurate monthly management information, including submissions, bind rate, average premium, and total premium.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years underwriting experience preferred.
- Ability to analyze financial statements.
- Strong communication, networking and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Customer- and sales-oriented mindset: motivated, tenacious, focused, proactive, and accountable.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge or experience in the Power and Utility energy sector (preferred).
- Experience expanding broker networks and attending broker events.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: USD 84,000 - 111,000 per year; eligible for a bonus in accordance with the applicable incentive plan.
