About the Role Underwriter II, Corporate Accounts, Excess Casualty at AIG will manage a book of Fortune 1000 excess casualty accounts within authority and contribute to a world-class underwriting function. This role emphasizes delivering insurance solutions and maintaining broker relationships in a collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
- Manage and underwrite a book of Fortune 1000 excess casualty accounts within budgeted GWP and profitability targets.
- Adhere to underwriting authority, ensure timely file management, and maintain documentation per AIG Cat Excess audit guidelines.
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and premiums with Bermuda brokers; conduct client meetings professionally.
- Maintain organized underwriting files and thorough documentation; promote a professional work environment.
- Expand broker relationships through marketing calls and superior service; organize, respond to, quote, and manage all submissions and renewals.
- Cross-market with Cat Excess Financial Lines teams, US and London; adhere to AIG Cat Excess guidelines and best practices.
- Uphold AIG's code of conduct; comply with all underwriting authority guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in insurance or related field; minimum three years of brokering and/or underwriting Fortune 1000 accounts.
- Detailed technical knowledge in excess casualty exposures, coverage and pricing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of staff.
- Strong knowledge of Windows-based applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook.
- Professional appearance and demeanor; self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Proven ability to make sound underwriting decisions.
- Must be willing to work overtime (including evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000-$95,000 per year; eligible for a bonus in accordance with the applicable incentive plan.
