About the Role At AIG, we are reimagining the way we help customers manage risk. Join us as an Underwriter to contribute to our Environmental Casualty team and support an existing renewal book with collaboration from other team members. You will interact with top brokers and insureds nationwide, gaining exposure to a wide range of Environmental and NA Casualty coverages while ensuring standards and compliance. What You'll Do
- Underwrite a specific line of NA Casualty (e.g., Environmental, Excess or Primary Casualty, NA Auto, WC, AL, GL, DBA, Foreign Casualty) within NA Casualty
- Evaluate, prioritize, and select submissions to be underwritten
- Identify risk exposures, special or common hazards, claims experience and appropriate controls
- Analyze claims and quantify losses
- Adhere to underwriting guidelines and discipline to minimize exposure and appropriately price risks
- Ensure underwriting files and services standards and compliance guidelines are adhered to on assigned accounts
- Offer coverage, terms and conditions that generate a profit while meeting customer needs
- Capture market intelligence and broker feedback on accounts
- Begin demonstrating technical expertise with product(s) in the Financial Lines portfolio
- Provide superior customer service to brokers and clients (internal & external) What We're Looking For
- 1+ years of relevant professional experience; insurance experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferred
- Working knowledge of financial statements and analysis
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions
- Ability to facilitate cross-function collaboration, especially regarding technical aspects
- Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to self-direct, prioritize work, and meet deadlines
- Takes initiative on projects and assignments, seeks alternate solutions when necessary
- Highly motivated and results-oriented
