Job title: Undergraduate Teaching Assistant
About the Role Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Biology labs at the Mendel Science Center. This role supports faculty and students by performing basic lab tasks, cleaning glassware, processing samples, and assisting with various analyses. It provides practical lab experience for biology students while helping maintain a safe and organized lab environment.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine laboratory tasks including cleaning glassware and preparing materials for experiments.
- Process samples and assist with various analyses under supervision.
- Prepare and organize lab equipment and supplies for class sessions.
- Support instructors and students during class times and in lab preparation, following safety protocols.
What We're Looking For
- Current Villanova student; work-study preferred but open to all students.
- Eligible for work-study.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
- Science major preferred but not required.
- Previous lab experience is a plus.
- Availability Monday through Friday during class times and for lab preparation.
Nice to Have
- Previous lab experience is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly wage: $13.00 per hour.
- Estimated hours: 10 per week.
- Location: Mendel Science Center, Villanova University.
