About the Role The Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems is hiring undergraduate student interns to support off-campus stormwater monitoring, field testing, and laboratory testing and analysis as part of PennDOT’s I-95 Girard Avenue Interchange Reconstruction Project.
What You'll Do
- Assist with off-campus stormwater monitoring, field testing, and laboratory testing and analysis.
- Perform lab work including soil classification testing, data management and analysis, maintaining a safe and clean lab, and preparing samples and equipment.
- Conduct field activities such as maintaining field sites, collecting samples, installing/maintaining equipment, and infiltration testing.
- Support the broader stormwater management research project for PennDOT I-95 Girard Avenue Interchange Reconstruction.
- Work up to 20 hours per week; be prepared for repetitive lab tasks and extended standing; lift up to 50 pounds; work in extreme temperatures, humidity, and/or rain.
What We're Looking For
- Attention to detail and ability to follow directions; science or engineering major preferred.
- Prior lab experience a plus.
- Strong critical thinking skills and safe lab/field work practices.
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks and physically demanding conditions; willingness to work off-campus.
Nice to Have
- Previous lab experience (explicitly mentioned as a plus).
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage Rate: $15/hour. This internship is open to eligible Villanova students with work-study preferred but not required.
