Job title: Undergraduate Research Assistant - JR
About the Role Assist faculty, lab director, and graduate students in ongoing research activities in the Structural Engineering Teaching and Research Lab at Villanova University. This position supports hands-on testing and setup development for current and prospective research projects.
What You'll Do
- Assist faculty, lab director, and graduate students in ongoing research activities
- Perform tension testing of steel coupons and open web steel joist testing
- Construct and/or help construct new test setups for ongoing and new research
- Support lab operations, data collection, and documentation
What We're Looking For
- Civil Engineering major, rising junior or senior
- Work-study preferred but open to all students; 12 hours per week
- On-campus laboratory environment; availability for the 2026-2027 academic year
- Ability to adhere to safety protocols and maintain satisfactory attendance in academic classes
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage Rate: $15/hr
- Hours/week: 12
- Location: On-campus, Structural Eng. Teaching and Research Lab
