Job title: Undergraduate Lab Assistant
About the Role An undergraduate student is needed to assist in microplastics analysis under the supervision of Dr. Kelly Good and Dr. Erica Forgione. The role involves using a visual microscope to count and categorize particles, with data collected and analyzed in Excel, R scripts, LabArchives, and OneDrive. Additional hands-on laboratory soils analysis may also be performed.
What You'll Do
- Use a visual microscope to count and categorize microplastic particles.
- Collect, organize, and analyze data using Microsoft Excel, R scripts, LabArchives, and OneDrive.
- Assist with hands-on laboratory soils analyses as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled Villanova student; work-study preferred but open to all.
- Availability of more than 20 hours per week.
- Meticulous and precise with repetitive tasks.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel is required; coding experience is required.
- R scripting experience and previous research experience preferred.
Nice to Have
- Experience with R scripting and prior research projects (optional).
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures in a lab setting.
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage: $13.00 per hour.
