Job title: Ultrasound Technologist (On Call)
About the Role Ultrasound Technologist (On-Call) position at Camp Pendleton supporting the Navy facility through Concentric Methods. The role involves performing diagnostic ultrasonography, ensuring accurate image acquisition and interpretation, and coordinating with radiologists and clinicians to correlate clinical history with imaging findings.
What You'll Do
- Correlate the patient's clinical history with the requested ultrasound examination and review previous tests to correlate with the study.
- Consult with staff physicians from obstetrics, gynecology, cardiology, and surgery regarding the patient's history and preliminary diagnosis.
- Recognize normal anatomic variants and changes created by medical and surgical procedures.
- Document arrival, departure, and completed tests as required by MTF policy.
- Send appropriate image series to the radiologist for reading according to MTF protocol.
- Perform system warmups, calibrations, and quality control tasks according to manufacturer and MTF policy.
- Explain the process to the patient and instruct/assist in assuming the correct position for examination.
- Assist in compiling and archiving records for procedures performed.
- Observe and report to the radiologist any symptoms related to adverse reactions to contrast media and notify about conditions requiring attention.
- Recognize the need for and initiate emergency measures for critical situations such as respiratory or cardiac arrest.
- Identify abnormalities during testing and determine the need for additional scans of the affected area.
- Perform a full range of diagnostic ultrasonic examinations as appropriate to the discipline specified in the TO.
What We're Looking For
- Degree/education: Certificate from an academic program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
- Certification: ARDMS certified.
- Experience: One year of experience as a sonographer.
- Eligibility: Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
Compensation & Benefits
- Total hourly pay: $58.40 for up to 40 hours per week (base rate $53.47 plus $4.93 Health & Welfare per hour per SCLS regulations).
- Benefits: holidays, paid sick and vacation leave, and 401K with company match.
- Travel: 0-10% (if applicable).
