Job title: Ultrasound Technologist (On-Call and Call Back)
About the Role Cape Fox subsidiary Concentric Methods is accepting resumes for an Ultrasound Technologist (On-Call and Call Back) to provide support at the Navy facility at Camp Pendleton, CA. The role offers a total hourly pay of $58.40 for up to 40 hours per week (base rate $53.47 plus $4.93 Health & Welfare) in accordance with the Service Contract Labor Standards regulations, with benefits including holidays, paid sick and vacation leave, and 401K with company match.
What You'll Do
- Correlate the patient's clinical history with the requested examination and obtain results from previous pertinent diagnostic tests to correlate with the ultrasound study.
- Consult with staff physicians across obstetrics, gynecology, cardiology and surgery regarding patient's past medical history, preliminary diagnosis, and condition to correlate with the ultrasound examination.
- Recognize normal anatomic variants and changes created by medical/surgical procedures.
- Document arrival, departure, and completed tests as required by MTF policy.
- Send appropriate image series to the radiologist for reading according to MTF protocol.
- Perform system warmups, calibrations, and quality control tasks according to manufacturer and MTF policy.
- Explain process to patient and instruct and assist patient in assuming physical position for examination.
- Assist in compiling and archiving records for procedures performed.
- Observe and report to the radiologist any symptoms that have direct bearing on the patient's condition as a result of adverse reaction to contrast media and inform the radiologist of any condition requiring his/her attention.
- Recognize the need for and initiate emergency measures for critical situations such as respiratory or cardiac arrest.
- Identify abnormalities during testing and determine need for additional scans of affected area.
- Perform a full range of diagnostic ultrasonic examinations as appropriate to the discipline specified in the TO.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to correlate clinical history with ultrasound examinations and work with radiologists and physicians.
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound techniques across applicable disciplines (as described: obstetrics, gynecology, cardiology, surgery).
- Familiarity with MTF policy, image submission protocol, and quality control.
- Ability to recognize normal anatomic variants and post-procedural changes.
- Competence in documentation, patient positioning, emergency procedures, and monitoring for adverse reactions to contrast media.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills and ability to operate in a military facility environment.
