Job title: Ubuntu/Linux Platform Engineer (IoT/Edge)
About the Role Canonical is seeking a remote Ubuntu/Linux platform engineer to design and implement Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT, desktop and server-class hardware, across the full Linux stack. You will partner with silicon companies to deliver optimized Ubuntu experiences and have a meaningful impact on Linux adoption across industries.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement the best Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT desktop and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.
- Work with partners to deliver an optimised, first class Ubuntu experience on their platforms.
- Take a holistic approach to the Ubuntu experience on partner platforms with inputs on technical plans, testing strategy, quality metrics.
- Participate as technical lead on customer engagements involving complete system architectures from cloud to edge.
- Help our partners integrate their apps, SDKs, build device OS images, and optimize applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop and Server.
- Work with the most advanced operating systems across embedded, IoT, cloud and edge deployments.
What We're Looking For
- Resourceful, articulate, and able to deliver across server, desktop and IoT technologies.
- Ability to engage with partners and act as technical lead on customer engagements involving complete system architectures from cloud to edge.
- Experience helping partners integrate apps, SDKs, build device OS images, and optimize applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop and Server.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills and a passion for Linux adoption across industries.
