About the Role Canonical is seeking an Ubuntu Linux Kernel Engineer focused on silicon enablement. This remote, worldwide role aims to expand native SoC platform support and optimize performance for a high-quality user experience across devices.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain kernel code related to silicon enablement.
- Collaborate with SoC teams to enable new platforms in the Linux kernel.
- Optimize kernel paths for performance and power efficiency.
- Contribute to kernel debugging, testing, and release cycles.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience with Linux kernel development and driver development.
- Familiarity with SoC architecture, PCIe, memory management, and interconnects.
- Proficiency in C; experience with debugging tools such as perf, ftrace, kgdb, etc.
- Experience with cross-compilation, bootloaders, and firmware integration.
- Comfortable collaborating in a distributed, remote team.
