About this role
About the Role The Two-Station Sintering Furnace is designed to process two loads simultaneously, doubling throughput within the same footprint. It is widely used in the electronics industry for sintering or heat treating electronic components at high temperatures. Cycles include atmosphere preparation, heating, rapid cooling and controlled oxidation. The two-station furnace heats one load in the top (hot) chamber while cooling the second in the bottom chamber, with atmospheres isolated for each chamber. An electric lift moves loads between chambers. The hot zone can reach up to 2100°C using tantalum or tungsten heating elements. A high-throughput diffusion pumping system handles load outgassing typically seen during heat-up.
What You'll Do
- Operate fully automated cycles from start to finish via a customized HMI interface.
- Load and unload using electric load lifts, moving stacks from the bottom chamber into the heating chamber.
- Manage two loads in parallel: one during heating in the top chamber, the other cooling in the bottom chamber.
- Monitor temperatures (up to 2100°C, +/- 10°C gradient across the usable zone) and maintain controlled oxidation at cycle end.
- Ensure isolation of chamber atmospheres and proper operation of gas heat exchangers for rapid load cooling.
- Monitor and manage atmosphere preparation, heating, rapid cooling and product outgassing as part of the cycle.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with high-temperature furnaces or heat-treat equipment, especially sintering or electronics components.
- Familiarity with diffusion pumping systems, gas exchangers, and automated process interfaces (HMI/computer interfaces).
- Ability to interpret furnace specifications and operate a two-chamber design (top sintering chamber, bottom loading/cooling chamber).
- Comfort working with batch processing and understanding of controlled oxidation at end of cycle.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of tantalum or tungsten heating zones.
- Experience with 10" or 16" diffusion pumping systems and gas cooling layouts.
- Familiarity with 12" diameter x 22" high usable zone equipment and two-chamber, atmosphere-isolated designs.
