About the Role Join the Jenkins Academic Center as a Tutor/Academic Support facilitator. You will provide free tutoring, writing assistance, and study-skills coaching to Rio students, delivering services in-person on campus or remotely through Nimbus Learning to help students reach their academic goals.
What You'll Do
- Provide tutoring and writing assistance to Rio students with feedback on written work.
- Conduct remote and in-person tutoring sessions.
- Support study skills, time management, test preparation, reading comprehension, and note-taking strategies.
- Facilitate online paper reviews via the OPS program and return feedback within 24 hours (72 hours for late submissions).
- Manage appointment scheduling through Nimbus Learning and the Nimbus web portal; contact tutors if meetings do not launch as scheduled.
What We're Looking For
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to provide clear feedback on writing.
- Experience in tutoring, writing assistance, study-skills coaching, and test prep.
- Familiarity with Nimbus Learning, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Canvas is a plus.
- Ability to work with students in both remote and in-person settings and to manage timely feedback (24-hour paper feedback window; 72 hours for late submissions).
Nice to Have
- Experience with BrainFuse or Canvas is a plus.
