This is a Specially Funded Position Starting salary: 83,467-90,832 The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. The starting salary range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Pay Grade: AO
Job Summary
Direct and oversee the implementation of DMACC TRIO Student Support Services (TRIO-SSS) and TRIO Upward Bound (TRIO-UB) grants. The goal of TRIO programs is to provide academic support and programming to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to increase the retention, persistence and graduation rates of students from populations historically underserved and under represented in higher education.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate and supervise the overall operation, administration and evaluation of TRIO-SSS and TRIO-UB programs as defined by federal legislation and regulations, as well as the grant documents. Develop a system of program management that includes documentation and certification of participant eligibility, as well as documentation and certification of student participation and activity.
- Plan and manage the budgets; supervise the completion of all fiscal program reports required by the grantor and college grants office. Collect and compile data; write and review required reports. Conduct regular evaluation of all components of the program and provide a comprehensive report to the college and the grantor.
- Supervise all TRIO-SSS and TRIO-UB staff, recommend personnel actions related to hiring, compensation, performance evaluations, training, leaves, discipline, grievances, work schedules and assignments; administer personnel and related policies and procedures per the collective bargaining agreements and the EEO/AA plan. Plan and coordinate staff development activities emphasizing best practices and principles of effective intervention.
- Identify, plan and implement services for program participants.
- Develop communication materials for the programs. Communicate program goals and objectives to the college and community. Collaborate with community agencies and resources to meet goals and objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in education, social work, psychology or related.
- 3 years’ experience managing federal TRIO programs, academic support programs or similar programs that serve similar populations to the TRIO programs, as well as demonstrated experience supervising full time staff.
- Must be able to travel with and supervise students on educational cultural events and work extended hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, coordinate, and supervise a broad and varied range of activities and people.
- Demonstrated competency in budget planning and management.
- Demonstrated experience in program evaluation and assessment, coordination of programs, and personnel supervision and management.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from varied backgrounds.
- Demonstrated commitment to variety, equal opportunity, and the academic, intellectual and social development of all students and employees.
- Personal or professional experience in overcoming barriers similar to those facing TRIO participants.
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of current software applications and database management.
