Nairapoint Finance Limited is a licensed digital financial technology platform in Nigeria focused on ethical lending, investment products, and retail wealth management. Officially launched in December 2025 at the Ikoyi Golf Club, Lagos, the platform was established by Nigerian entrepreneur Mrs. Funke Otti alongside Vice Chairman Dr. Mohammed K. Santuraki to deepen financial inclusion for individuals and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Treasury Manager
Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Purpose
- The Treasury Manager leads Nairapoint's treasury function and is accountable for the Company's liquidity, funding, asset-liability management (ALM) and investment of surplus funds.
- The role ensures that loan disbursements and obligations to depositors, investors and lenders are always funded; secures and diversifies funding at the lowest sustainable cost; manages interest rate, liquidity, counterparty and foreign exchange risks within approved limits; and keeps the Company compliant with CBN requirements and internal risk thresholds.
- The Treasury Manager also supports the Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) with timely analysis and recommendations, and builds a disciplined, high-integrity treasury team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Liquidity & Cash Flow Management:
- Daily liquidity: Own the daily cash position across all operating, collection, disbursement and settlement accounts, and ensure funds are available for loan disbursements, repayments, investor payouts and operating expenses without delay.
- Forecasting: Produce and continuously refine daily, weekly and rolling 13-week cash-flow forecasts using disbursement pipelines, collections, maturities and seasonality, and escalate projected shortfalls early.
- Buffers and contingency. Maintain statutory and operational liquidity buffers in line with CBN requirements and approved internal thresholds; design, test and update the Contingency Funding Plan.
- Cash optimisation: Optimise balances across banks and wallets, minimise idle cash and overdraft or float costs, and manage bank accounts, mandates and signatories with proper dual authorisation.
Funding Strategy & Deposit / Investor Mobilisation:
- Funding plan: Develop and execute the annual and quarterly funding plan aligned with the Company's growth and loan-book targets, diversifying across deposits, investor notes, bank lines and other sources to avoid concentration.
- Mobilisation: Lead corporate, institutional and high-net-worth individual (HNWI) deposit and investor mobilisation, working with Growth/Marketing and Operations to deliver agreed targets.
- Product pricing: Recommend pricing, tenor and structure of Fixed Deposits, Target Savings, Notes and similar products to achieve the lowest sustainable cost of funds while remaining competitive; present pricing to ALCO for approval.
- Counterparty relationships: Build and manage relationships with commercial banks, financial institutions, money market counterparties, lenders and development finance institutions; negotiate facilities, terms and lines, and monitor covenants.
Asset-Liability Management (ALM) & Investments:
- ALM monitoring: Monitor maturity gaps, asset-liability mismatches, interest rate sensitivity and funding concentration, and recommend corrective actions to keep the balance sheet stable.
- Investment execution: Invest surplus funds in Treasury Bills, government securities, money market instruments and placements, within approved policy, limits and tenor guidelines, balancing safety, liquidity and yield.
- Spread management: Work with Finance and Credit Risk to track net interest margin, cost of funds and yield on the loan book, and advise on pricing and product decisions.
- ALCO support: Prepare ALCO papers, yield schedules, interest rate analysis and funding recommendations; follow up and report on the implementation of ALCO decisions.
Treasury Risk Management & Controls:
- Risk limits: Identify, measure and mitigate liquidity, interest rate, counterparty, concentration and foreign exchange risks; propose and monitor limits for counterparties, instruments and exposures, and report any breach promptly.
- Stress testing: Run periodic liquidity and interest-rate stress tests and scenario analyses, and escalate results and mitigation plans to ALCO and Executive Management.
- Controls: Enforce segregation of duties, dual authorisation, deal-ticket and confirmation discipline, and timely settlement; ensure treasury transactions are fully documented and traceable.
- Reconciliation: Ensure daily reconciliation of treasury transactions, yield accruals and settlement activity with Finance and Operations, and resolve breaks and exceptions within defined timelines.
Regulatory Compliance, Governance & Reporting:
- Regulatory compliance: Ensure complete compliance with CBN and NIBSS requirements on liquidity, capital adequacy, funding and reporting, and prepare accurate, timely regulatory returns in collaboration with Finance and Compliance.
- AML and source of funds: Work with Compliance & AML to apply KYC and source-of-funds checks on institutional and individual investors and counterparties before accepting funds.
- Data protection: Protect investor, counterparty and customer data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA 2023) and the Company's data protection policy.
- Audit and policy: Support internal and external audits, maintain the Treasury Policy and standard operating procedures, and ensure all treasury activity complies with Company policy and the Staff Code of Conduct.
Management Reporting & Business Partnership:
- Management reporting: Deliver a daily liquidity report, weekly funding and investment dashboard and monthly treasury and ALCO pack covering liquidity, funding mix, cost of funds, yields, counterparty exposure and risk indicators.
- Business partnering: Advise the Head, Finance & Treasury, Executive Management, Credit Risk, Product and Growth on funding capacity, pricing and the treasury impact of new products, campaigns and growth plans.
- Planning input: Contribute funding, interest-cost and treasury-income inputs to budgets, forecasts and business cases.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement:
- People leadership: Lead, coach and develop the Treasury Officer(s) and analysts; allocate work, set KRAs and KPIs, conduct performance appraisals, and build succession and cross-coverage within the team.
- Automation: Drive automation of cash positioning, bank connectivity, reconciliations and reporting in collaboration with Technology and Finance, to improve speed, accuracy and control.
- Continuity and culture: Maintain treasury business continuity arrangements and uphold Nairapoint's values (Speed, Reliability, Transparency, Innovation and People-Centered), setting a high standard of integrity and accountability.
Person Specifications
General Education:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Statistics, Mathematics or a related quantitative discipline.
Professional Qualification:
- At least one recognised professional certification is strongly preferred (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, CFA, or ACI Dealing Certificate / ACI Treasury).
- A Master's degree (MSc Finance, MBA) is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in treasury management, ALM, money market operations or funding within a bank, finance company or other regulated financial institution, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proven track record managing daily liquidity, cash-flow forecasting, deposit/investor mobilisation and bank and money-market relationships.
- In-depth knowledge of money market instruments, Treasury Bills and government securities, yield and interest computations, ALM frameworks, liquidity-risk and contingency funding planning, and CBN regulations applicable to finance companies.
- Strong understanding of Nigerian macroeconomic indicators, fixed-income markets and interest rate and FX dynamics.
- Experience in a fintech, digital lending or microfinance environment is an added advantage.
Key Competencies:
- Exceptional financial analysis, quantitative modelling and liquidity forecasting skills; advanced Excel and comfort with treasury and banking platforms.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills for pricing deposits, placements, facilities and institutional funds.
- Sound judgement and the ability to decide quickly and accurately under time pressure.
