At Eni, we are looking for a Treasury Accountant to join Eni Iraq B.V. in Basra. You will be responsible for processing approved invoices and posting payments in SAP, managing the Petty Cash Fund in line with company procedures, and supporting period-end closing activities by ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and archived.

Main responsibilities

• Receive and review all invoices posted by the Accounting Department of EIBV/ZFOD (Zubair Field Operating Division).
• Ensure that all supporting documentation is compliant before releasing payments in SAP for approved invoices in both local and foreign currencies.
• Post treasury-related transactions in SAP and ensure that all treasury activities are carried out and recorded effectively and efficiently in accordance with Eni Iraq B.V. Finance policies and procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of payment proposals.
• Prepare vendor ageing reports and manage communications with vendors.
• Act as custodian of the Petty Cash Fund in USD and IQD, and disburse payments as required.
• Post daily petty cash transactions in SAP, prepare monthly petty cash reconciliation statements, and monitor petty cash advances, ensuring supporting receipts are obtained and advances are settled promptly.
• Conduct periodic cash counts in accordance with the Company's Petty Cash Operating Procedure.

Skills and experience required:

• University degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Relevant experience as an Accountant, preferably within the oil and gas sector.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the MS Office suite.
• Experience of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, SunSystems, Navision, or similar accounting systems.
