Kirkland & Ellis is seeking a Travel, Meetings & Events Assistant within the Travel, Meetings & Events (TME) team of the Firm’s Marketing & Business Development (MBD) department in Houston. In this role, you will support a wide range of Firmwide meetings, events and travel-related initiatives, helping to create exceptional experiences for attorneys, clients and guests.

Reporting to the Associate Director of TME and collaborating with colleagues across the Firm, you'll play a key role in coordinating logistics, managing vendor relationships, supporting budgets and ensuring successful event execution. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a high-performing, team-first group that values communication, initiative, attention to detail and continuous improvement.

Event Planning & Coordination: Support the planning and execution of internal and external meetings and events, ensuring every detail is organized and delivered successfully.

Venue Sourcing & Contract Management: Assist with site selection, entertainment sourcing, request for proposal (RFP) processes and vendor contract negotiations to secure favorable terms and minimize risk.

Registration Management: Coordinate registration processes, RSVP tracking, ticketing and attendee communications using Cvent and other tools.

Logistics Coordination: Coordinate event logistics including catering, audiovisual services, technology, transportation, and other event requirements.

Event Materials & Branding: Oversee the preparation and distribution of event collateral, including name badges, brochures, giveaways and other materials that align with Firm branding standards.

On-Site Event Support: Serve as a key on-site resource, working closely with vendors and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution from setup through completion.

Budget & Expense Support: Track event budgets, monitor expenses, process vendor invoices and department statements and assist with budget reconciliation and financial reporting.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Assist with post-event recaps, attendance reports, budget summaries and insights to measure event success and support future planning.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with colleagues across MBD, attorneys, clients and external vendors to deliver exceptional event experiences.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree; 1-2 years of experience in a law firm, professional services or hospitality environment.

Communication & Relationship Building: Outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with attorneys, clients, guests and colleagues at all levels.

Project Management & Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, balance competing deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Ability to take initiative, navigate ambiguity, exercise sound judgment and respond effectively in high-pressure, deadline-driven situations.

Technical Proficiency: Solid command of MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint; experience with Cvent is preferred.
