Transportation Supervisor

About the Role Assists with all transportation-related operations and oversees daily driver and dispatch schedules. Maintains DOT compliance paperwork and filing systems, conducts regular safety meetings, and manages driver timesheets and payroll. Coordinates fleet repairs with the shop and serves as a backup for outside dispatch operations, working with contract carriers and brokers to support transportation needs. What You'll Do

• Prepare and maintain daily driver and dispatch schedules, ensuring on-time performance and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain DOT compliance paperwork and filing systems; conduct regular safety meetings and ensure driver timesheets and payroll are accurate.
• Coordinate fleet equipment repairs and maintenance with the shop; oversee the condition and cleanliness of transportation equipment.
• Provide backup for outside dispatch (FTL/OTR and LTL) operations; work with scheduling, sales, and customers to provide ETAs and freight quotes.
• Train transportation personnel to meet safety standards; ensure direct contact with shipping facilities and support on-call questions during nights and weekends.
• Complete and maintain reports (DOT documentation, incident reports, weekly/monthly/daily reports); ensure adherence to biosecurity guidelines. What We're Looking For
• Education: High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience or training; equivalent combination; 4-year degree preferred.
• Language and communication: Ability to read, analyze, interpret business documents; write reports and procedure manuals; present information to groups.
• Mathematical and computer skills: Basic algebra, geometry; knowledge of payroll systems, spreadsheet and word processing software; experience with contact management and internet software.
• Certifications: Valid driver's license.
• Experience and traits: Ability to train personnel; strong leadership and supervisory experience; safety-focused and able to work nights/weekends as on-call. Nice to Have
• Bachelor's degree from a 4-year institution preferred.
• Experience in transportation operations, dispatch, broker/carrier coordination; familiarity with DOT regulations and safety programs.
