Job title: Transportation General Manager I
About the Role This position will oversee operations and transportation and can be filled at the General Manager I or Transportation General Manager I level pending the experience level of the candidate. The Transportation General Manager I role has a national salary range of $120,000 - $155,000. What You'll Do
- Manage the daily activities of all transportation functions at the site level and lead initiatives to maximize weekly, monthly, and annual performance through effective leadership and workforce development.
- Ensure customer/vendor contract requirements are administered and enforced.
- Maximize the performance of the site inventory management system: care, custody, and control of customer inventory; productivity and space utilization; accuracy; proper utilization of information technology.
- Maintain a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for associates.
- Implement associate performance reviews, individual development plans, and succession plans.
- Ensure site operates to the routines outlined in the site interaction matrix and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure company policies are communicated, administered, and enforced (i.e., accounting, operational, regulatory, and administrative).
- Take an active leadership role in managing turnover to the appropriate level (among hourly and management staff).
- Ensure associates and supervisory staff have proper access to the necessary tools to perform their roles.
What We're Looking For
- Experience overseeing operations and transportation at the site level, with the ability to lead a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong focus on customer requirements, labor management, freight optimization, equipment allocation, workforce motivation, development, and succession planning.
- Ability to enforce customer/vendor contract requirements and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with site inventory management concepts, data accuracy, IT utilization, and efficient space planning.
- Commitment to safety, security, and a fair, compliant work environment.
- Experience implementing performance reviews, development plans, and succession planning.
- Knowledge of routines and SOPs, regulatory and administrative policies, and appropriate policy enforcement.
- Proven ability to manage turnover at both hourly and management levels and to provide tool access for staff.
