- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic faults in manual and automated transmission systems.
- Carry out repairs, servicing, and overhauls of truck gearboxes, clutches, and associated transmission components.
- Inspect, dismantle, clean, and reassemble transmission units according to manufacturer specifications.
- Identify faults in gear-shifting mechanisms, synchronisers, bearings, gears, shafts, and related components.
- Diagnose transmission-related issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Inspect and replace defective transmission parts and recommend repairs where necessary.
- Conduct post-repair testing to confirm proper transmission operation.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, and reports of repairs carried out.
- Work with other mechanics and technicians to resolve complex vehicle faults.
- Ensure compliance with workshop procedures, manufacturer specifications, and company HSE standards.
- Strong knowledge of manual and automated manual transmission systems used in heavy-duty trucks.
- Practical experience in gearbox dismantling, component inspection, repairs, and reassembly.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and transmission diagrams.
- Proficiency in using mechanical tools, diagnostic equipment, and workshop testing instruments.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of preventive maintenance, workshop safety, and quality control.
- Ability to work independently and meet operational deadlines.
