About the Role The Transmission Engineer – Transmission will design high and extra-high voltage transmission lines (69-500 kV), develop construction documents, and provide field support. This role focuses on delivering technically sound transmission projects in the St. Louis, MO area and additional client locations in Columbus, OH and Akron, OH. What You'll Do
- Design high and extra-high voltage transmission lines (69-500 kV) using PLS-CADD.
- Prepare construction documents, including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation assembly drawings.
- Prepare specifications and project design criteria.
- Provide field support during construction.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships; provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff.
- Travel occasionally to client and project locations; HVDC experience is a plus. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related ABET-accredited program and 3 years of transmission engineering experience; or Consulting preferred or Bachelor's Degree in Civil or related Engineering Technology with FE exam and 3 years of transmission engineering experience; or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years of transmission engineering experience; Consulting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of standard civil/structural engineering techniques and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD and related transmission analysis programs.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Engineers in Training (EIT) certification preferred. Nice to Have
- HVDC experience is a plus.
