About the Role You’ll lead the development and continuous improvement of a world-class Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) management system for transit and infrastructure projects within Accenture's Infrastructure & Capital Projects practice. You’ll establish and grow a regional safety consulting team, define service offerings, and provide executive-level safety oversight for complex transit programs. What You'll Do
- Build, implement, and continuously improve a world-class EHS management system aligned with client, corporate, and state agency objectives.
- Establish and grow a regional safety consulting team through recruitment, mentoring, performance management, and professional development.
- Define service offerings, standards, tools, and delivery models for construction safety services within the Transit Group.
- Provide executive-level safety oversight for complex transit and infrastructure construction projects.
- Oversee the full safety lifecycle: safety planning, program development, field inspections, compliance verification, and audits.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis for serious incidents and near misses and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Partner with Finance and project leadership on risk, insurance, and claims management, including OCIP/CCIP programs and workers’ compensation.
- Serve as trusted advisor to public agencies, contractors, and internal leadership on safety and regulatory compliance.
- Represent the firm in high-level meetings with transit agencies, Cal/OSHA, and other regulatory bodies.
- Support clients during audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions.
- Act as a key technical contributor during pursuits, proposals, and interviews.
- Leverage safety performance, sustainability, and risk-management strategies as differentiators.
- Support long-term growth of the safety consulting practice through strong client relationships and market insight.
- Onsite at client sites with some in-person work; hybrid model with remote work and regional delivery centers; statewide travel for project support. What We're Looking For
- Minimum 18 years of progressive construction safety management experience.
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role with responsibility for multiple projects, programs, or regions.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, EHS, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) - acceptable for construction-focused roles.
- Other nationally recognized safety credentials (e.g., ASP, CSHO) may be considered.
- State of California QSP or QSD certification; OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety & Health; valid California Class C driver’s license. Nice to Have
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) – preferred.
- Experience supporting large, complex infrastructure or transit construction programs.
- Deep expertise in Cal/OSHA Title 8 and California construction safety regulations.
- Working knowledge of Caltrans and transit agency safety and environmental requirements.
- Public-sector experience; ENV SP or LEED sustainability credentials. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $140,000 - $210,000 per year.
- Statewide travel required; onsite/hybrid work model; flexible work arrangements where possible.
