About the Role The Trainee Manager will support the Store Manager to protect and grow profitable market share within the store, in line with Store, Division and Company strategy. This external-applications-focused role emphasizes strategic planning, customer service, asset and stock control, and leadership. What You'll Do
- Assist the Store Manager to develop, implement and manage a Store Business Plan aligned with the Company strategy and approved by the Divisional Manager and Operations Manager.
- Grow and protect market share, assist in achieving sales budgets and growth by category, promote customer loyalty programmes, and manage advertising material and action plans to defend market position when competitors enter.
- Assist with implementing and monitoring the Customer Service strategy; maintain Customer Audits above 95%; ensure reliable customer delivery; grow VIC client base; achieve transaction budgets; recommend range improvements; act on customer surveys.
- Asset Control: Stock – assist to manage shrinkage, PIC process, stock takes, and stock movement within the store; manage end control IBTs, customer returns, receiving; analyze security requirements and implement changes.
- Asset Control: Cash – assist to manage debtors and RD cheques; manage cash-related tasks as required. What We're Looking For
- Grade 12
- At least 2 years retail management experience
- Valid Driver's license
- Valid ID or valid work permit (local)
- Strong accounting skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Computer literacy (basic)
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong administrative skills
- Own transport and cell phone
- Sound knowledge of Health and Safety aspects in line with local (OHSA) and/or neighbouring Countries legislation
- Strong Human Resources skills
