Job title: Trailer Technician
About the Role As a trailer technician I, you are responsible for performing basic maintenance, service and repair to J.B. Hunt trailers, containers, chassis and other equipment. Under close supervision, you will conduct fleet maintenance to ensure that our equipment meets J.B. Hunt standards at all times.
What You'll Do
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including air brake systems and FHWA inspections
- Accurately perform basic repairs up to company and manufacturer's specifications, complete work orders and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines
- Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
- Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers
What We're Looking For
- Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age with 1 year of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent; Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through toolbox purchase program; Willingness to work outdoors; Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed
- Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 1 year of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent; At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes; Basic welding skills (MIG and stick); Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to manage multiple priorities; Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice to Have

Compensation & Benefits
- The expected starting pay range is between $23.55 - $35.30 per hour
- This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable
