Trade-In Sales & Device Liquidation Specialist
Role Overview
- We are looking for a commercially driven Trade-In Sales & Device Liquidation Specialist to manage the resale and liquidation of traded-in devices.
- The successful candidate will build and manage relationships with wholesalers, dealers, refurbishers, corporate buyers and other relevant sales channels to ensure traded-in devices are sold efficiently, competitively and within the required timelines.
- The role requires strong negotiation skills, an understanding of pricing and margins, excellent follow-up, and the ability to move stock quickly while protecting business value.
Key Responsibilities
Buyer Network & Business Development:
- Build and maintain a network of verified wholesalers, dealers, refurbishers and corporate buyers.
- Develop and maintain effective resale channels for used and refurbished devices.
- Identify new buyers and commercial opportunities within the device trading market.
- Conduct buyer onboarding and due diligence in line with company requirements.
- Negotiate volume deals, bulk pricing and repeat purchase arrangements.
Sales & Deal Execution:
- Sell graded devices by unit or bulk at approved prices.
- Manage negotiations with buyers and close sales within agreed timelines.
- Run bids, auctions or bulk sales processes where appropriate.
- Prepare sales quotations, invoices and relevant sales documentation.
- Ensure full payment is received before stock is released.
Stock Movement & Liquidation:
- Monitor stock levels and ageing on a daily basis.
- Take proactive steps to move slow-moving and ageing inventory.
- Recommend markdowns, bundles or bulk clearance strategies where required.
- Support the liquidation of non-repairable devices through approved channels.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure sold stock is released promptly.
Market & Pricing Feedback:
- Track buyer demand, market prices and sales trends.
- Share actual selling prices and buyer feedback with relevant teams.
- Identify device models or grades that consistently underperform in the market.
- Provide market insights that can support pricing and inventory decisions.
Reporting & Controls:
- Prepare regular reports on units sold, revenue, recovery rates and stock ageing.
- Reconcile sales, payments and stock movements with relevant internal teams.
- Ensure all sales are properly documented and approved.
- Maintain accurate records of buyers, transactions and payments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in B2B sales, wholesale sales, dealer management or inventory liquidation.
- Strong negotiation, persuasion and deal-closing skills.
- Strong understanding of pricing, margins and stock movement.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and sales tracking.
- Strong relationship-building and follow-up skills.
- Commercially driven with a strong sense of urgency.
- High level of integrity, particularly in handling stock, payments and customer relationships.
- Experience selling smartphones, electronics, used/refurbished devices or other consumer electronics will be an advantage.
- Existing relationships within the device trading, wholesale or resale ecosystem will be an advantage.
