Trade-In Procurement & Inventory Specialist

Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Trade-In Procurement & Inventory Specialist to manage the procurement, verification, grading and inventory control of traded-in devices. The role is responsible for ensuring that devices entering the business are properly verified, accurately graded, recorded and traceable throughout their movement across procurement, refurbishment and resale. The ideal candidate should have strong procurement or inventory management experience, excellent attention to detail, a strong control mindset and a practical understanding of smartphones and electronic devices.
Key Responsibilities
Device Procurement & Verification:

Manage the intake and collection of traded-in devices from stores, agents and partner locations.

Carry out or coordinate IMEI checks, ownership verification and stolen/blacklisted device screening.

Ensure devices meet the required acceptance criteria before they are added to inventory.

Identify and escalate devices that fail verification.

Ensure customer accounts and personal data are properly removed from devices before processing.

Device Grading & Quality Control

Grade devices according to approved condition and quality standards.

Coordinate device diagnostics and functionality checks.

Resolve grading discrepancies with relevant channels and partners.

Conduct spot checks to ensure accurate and consistent grading.

Ensure device condition is accurately reflected in inventory records.
Vendor & Supplier Management:
- Identify, assess and onboard refurbishers, repair partners, spare-parts suppliers and logistics providers.
- Request and evaluate supplier quotations.
- Negotiate pricing, turnaround times and service quality.
- Monitor vendor performance against agreed requirements.
- Review vendor invoices against services delivered before approval for payment.
Inventory & Stock Control:
- Record devices accurately, including IMEI, grade, cost and location.
- Maintain clear chain-of-custody records throughout the device lifecycle.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
- Monitor movement of devices between locations.
- Ensure proper storage and security of devices.
- Investigate and escalate unexplained inventory variances.
Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare regular reports on device intake, rejection rates, grading accuracy, turnaround times and inventory.
- Ensure procurement activities follow approved processes and controls.
- Identify and escalate potential fraud, repeat offenders and control gaps.
- Maintain accurate and auditable procurement and inventory records.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, inventory management or device operations.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and inventory recording skills.
- Working knowledge of smartphone hardware, IMEI verification and basic device diagnostics.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation.
- Strong integrity and a firm approach to compliance and controls.
- Good negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple vendors, locations and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with smartphones, electronics, repairs, refurbishment or reverse logistics will be an advantage.
- Experience using ERP or inventory management systems will be an advantage.
- Procurement or supply chain certification will be an added advantage.

- You should be comfortable working with vendors, inventory records and physical devices while maintaining strong controls throughout the procurement process.
Salary
N250,000 Net Monthly.
