Trade-In Pricing & Commercial Analyst
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Job Summary
- We are looking for a highly analytical Trade-In Pricing & Commercial Analyst to manage device valuation, pricing and costing across a trade-in business.
- The role is responsible for determining appropriate values for traded-in devices by analysing device specifications, condition, market prices, refurbishment costs, logistics and expected resale value.
- The successful candidate will use data and market intelligence to develop pricing models, protect margins and ensure pricing decisions remain commercially competitive.
Responsibilities
Pricing & Device Valuation:
- Build and maintain pricing models for devices based on brand, model, storage capacity and condition.
- Develop and maintain device price matrices and grading-based valuation models.
- Review and update device prices based on market movements.
- Evaluate pricing requests outside approved pricing ranges.
- Ensure pricing decisions are properly documented and supported by data.
Market Research & Competitive Analysis:
- Monitor used-device prices across physical and online secondary markets.
- Track prices from wholesalers, refurbishers, marketplaces and other relevant channels.
- Benchmark pricing against competitor and relevant trade-in programmes.
- Monitor new device launches, market price changes and FX movements.
- Maintain reliable records of market data and sources used for pricing decisions.
Costing & Margin Analysis:
- Calculate the total cost associated with each device, including acquisition, diagnostics, refurbishment, spare parts, logistics, storage and handling.
- Establish minimum margin and recovery thresholds.
- Compare expected resale values with actual selling prices.
- Analyse the financial impact of promotions and additional trade-in incentives.
- Identify pricing gaps that may negatively affect profitability.
Controls & Risk Management:
- Ensure pricing approvals follow agreed approval limits.
- Identify pricing anomalies and unusual valuation patterns.
- Support the investigation of grading and pricing discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and auditable pricing records.
- Support Finance and other internal teams with pricing and costing analysis.
Reporting & Insights:
- Prepare regular reports on price movements, offer acceptance, average acquisition cost and margins.
- Analyse pricing performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide data-backed recommendations on pricing changes.
- Maintain accurate pricing databases and dashboards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in pricing, costing, commercial analysis or financial analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pricing models, lookups, pivot tables and scenario analysis.
- Strong understanding of costing, margins and commercial decision-making.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to make evidence-based pricing decisions within tight timelines.
- Strong integrity and ability to maintain accurate financial and pricing records.
- Experience in devices, electronics, telecommunications, fintech or asset financing will be an advantage.
- Experience with Power BI, SQL or other data analytics tools will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of smartphone models, specifications and depreciation patterns will be an advantage.

Salary
N250,000 Net Monthly.
