About the Role The Linux System Administrator (L3) is responsible for advanced Linux system administration, technical leadership, and escalation support across on-premises and cloud environments. The role acts as a technical SME for Linux platforms, owning complex incidents, root cause analysis, system optimization, and continuous improvement while guiding L2 teams and ensuring platform stability.
What You'll Do
- Act as L3 escalation point for complex Linux incidents and production issues.
- Perform deep-dive troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and preventive actions.
- Design, review, and optimize Linux system configurations and performance.
- Lead patching strategies, kernel upgrades, and security hardening initiatives.
- Own and support High Availability clusters and complex storage configurations.
- Define and improve Linux operational standards, SOPs, and automation approaches.
- Support platform architecture decisions for on-prem and cloud Linux environments.
- Mentor and technically guide L2 administrators.
- Collaborate with security, network, storage, and cloud teams on integrated solutions.
- Provide technical input for audits, compliance, and capacity planning activities.
What We're Looking For
- Expert-level Linux administration experience (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or equivalent).
- Strong expertise in kernel tuning, performance optimization, and system hardening.
- Hands-on experience with HA clusters, DR solutions, and advanced storage setups.
- Experience with cloud Linux environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes and enterprise operations.
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and mentoring skills.
