Track and Field Graduate Assistant for Sprints/Distance

Position Title Track and Field Graduate Assistant for Sprints/Distance Academic Year 2026-2027 UIW Mission University of the Incarnate Word is a Catholic institution that welcomes to its community persons of diverse backgrounds, in the belief that their respectful interaction advances the discovery of truth, mutual understanding, self-realization, and the common good.

Position Summary The Graduate Assistant provides support to the Head Coach in all aspects of academic success, coaching, strength, conditioning, recruiting, planning of practice, organization of team meetings, scheduling and trip management. The Graduate Assistant reports to the Head Track and Field Coach. This is a student position open to current UIW graduate students.

Essential Functions

• Oversee tip management, including driving.
• Assist with fundraising activities.
• Work with campus community and the Athletic Department staff in assisting student-athletes in the registration process who are members of the Track and Field programs.
• Assist in practice and match transportation.
• Provide tennis facility support maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or designee.

• Required Education

• Current UIW graduate student.

• Required Work Experience

• Track and Field coaching and/or intercollegiate competitive experience.

• Preferred Qualifications

• None.

• Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations

• None.

• Work Hours

• Monday – Friday up to 25 hours per week.

• Some weekends and holidays.

• Physical Demands

• Ability to lift equipment, tools, and/or materials weighing up to 25 pounds waist high.
