Job title: Touch Up Operator
About the Role The Touch Up Operator supports finishing operations in Douglas, GA by performing systematic touch ups and visual inspections of cast parts in accordance with Quality Engineering Specifications. This role uses air-powered tools, grit blasting, and inspection techniques to ensure parts meet quality standards and are ready for production release.
What You'll Do
- Read and apply the Quality Engineering Specification (QES) to the visual inspection of a casting, using a scan pattern for the inspection.
- Accept or reject castings based on QES.
- Operate air-powered tools to remove defects and/or rework castings.
- Grit blast parts in an enclosed grit blast cabinet as necessary.
- Perform "Toy Soldier" inspections to identify differences between groups of parts per the QES.
- Lift individual parts up to 6 pounds and trays of parts up to 25 pounds.
- Be qualified to touch up all parts within the area; may train Touch Up Operator I’s as required.
- Perform other duties for which certification is required.
What We're Looking For
- High school education.
- Nine months OJT training.
- Normal initiative and ingenuity; normal effort required.
- Lift/move 5-15 pounds, 2 or more times per hour.
- Willingness to work daily overtime and weekend overtime as necessary.
- Willingness to work in dusty and noisy conditions.
- This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to ITAR/EAR regulations; may require U.S. Persons or eligibility to obtain export authorizations.
