About this role
Job title: Tools Architect
About the Role The Tools Architect is responsible for designing, integrating, and optimizing the enterprise network monitoring, observability, and automation ecosystem across global network operations. This role ensures seamless integration of tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk ITSI, and Cisco DNAC (Catalyst Center) to deliver a unified, intelligent, and proactive NOC platform aligned with ITIL practices and business SLAs. The architect drives single-pane-of-glass visibility, event correlation, automated incident management, and analytics-driven operations in large-scale, multi-vendor environments.
What You'll Do
- Define and own the end-to-end tooling architecture for Network Operations (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi/SDWAN/Data Center).
- Design integrated monitoring ecosystem across SolarWinds (Network performance & fault monitoring), Splunk ITSI (event correlation, service intelligence, AIOps), and Cisco DNAC (assurance, provisioning, telemetry, automation).
- Establish Manager of Managers (MoM) architecture for centralized visibility and develop roadmaps for observability, automation, and predictive analytics.
- Architect integrations between tools using REST APIs, SNMP, Syslog, Streaming Telemetry and enable data ingestion from multi-domain sources.
- Design event correlation models in Splunk ITSI for noise reduction and alert consolidation; integrate SolarWinds and DNAC telemetry into Splunk for unified analytics.
- Define monitoring frameworks for fault, performance, availability, and experience; configure thresholds, KPIs, SLAs, and service models; build service topology mapping in ITSI aligned to business services.
- Enable end-to-end observability across WAN, SDWAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, Data Center, and Cloud environments.
- Design and implement automation: automated incident creation (ServiceNow integration), auto-remediation workflows, self-healing scripts and runbooks; enable predictive analytics and event-driven automation; support shift-left operations.
- Define architecture for Cisco DNAC (Device discovery, provisioning, assurance, and compliance) and integrate DNAC with the monitoring stack for AI-driven insights and network health scoring; enable telemetry streaming into Splunk ITSI.
- Establish governance & standardization: naming conventions, event severity models, dashboard standards; ensure alignment with ITIL Incident, Problem, Change Management processes; drive adoption of standardized dashboards and reports.
- Architect executive and operational dashboards: SLA/KPI tracking, Availability & MTTR, incident trends & correlation insights.
What We're Looking For
- 10–15 years of experience in Network Operations / Tooling Architecture; strong experience in global managed services environments.
- Core Technical Skills: SolarWinds – NPM, NTA, SAM, NetPath; Splunk ITSI – service modeling, correlation search, dashboards; Cisco DNAC / Catalyst Center – assurance, automation, provisioning.
- Strong knowledge of networking (LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi/SDWAN); SNMP, NetFlow, Syslog, REST APIs; monitoring & observability frameworks.
- Integration & Automation experience: API-based integrations; ServiceNow integration; scripting in Python and Shell; exposure to AIOps platforms and automation frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting ability; strong stakeholder communication; experience in large-scale, multi-vendor environments.
