Job title: Tool & Die Technician
About the Role Grammer is seeking a Tool & Die Technician to join the Delphos, OH team. You will contribute to tooling development and mold maintenance for automotive interiors components and die assemblies, helping ensure process capability and quality.
What You'll Do
- Provide technical assistance during process and tooling development to meet setup and assure process capability
- Produce first pieces required for approval to the specifications with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance
- Produce pilot production runs and verify speed of production and quality of product manufactured
- Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances
- Connect wiring and hydraulic lines to install electrical and hydraulic components
- Repair, modify and/or adjust molds; dismantle dies to gain access to and repair die components
- Fabricate and repair welder plates and support repair of miscellaneous auxiliary equipment
- Polish, bench, spotting, grinding, drilling, machining, fitting, welding; operate overhead crane
- Maintain knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, and milling; familiarity with Hot Runner Systems, including Synventive
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred; Journeyman's card acceptable in lieu of technical degree
- Minimum 2-4 years of related experience
- Ability to work afternoon/midnight shifts, overtime, and be on call for weekend repairs as needed
- Experience maintaining a clean and organized tool & die area for easy access to molds and equipment/tools
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; good written and verbal communication; detail oriented; strong time-management
- Excellent people skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of management and large numbers of employees
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; proven flexibility and adaptability in challenging situations
