Job title: Tilles Center Freelance Stage Hand
About the Role The Tilles Center Freelance Stage Hand supports mounting events and productions at Tilles Center by performing a variety of stage crew tasks on an as-needed basis. This role helps ensure events run smoothly and safely across LIU Post venues.
What You'll Do
- Assist in setup (Load In) and breakdown (Load Out) of performances
- Prepare the theater for upcoming events (Changeover)
- Assist in lighting plotting (light hang) and other maintenance and show tasks
- Support events across multiple venues and spaces on campus
- Work as an active member of the crew to maintain an operating and safe theater
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Backstage theater experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Working conditions: generally indoors in theaters/auditoriums and backstage spaces; loading of trucks outdoors in adjacent parking lots
- Basic hand and power tools experience; ability to operate basic stage equipment
Nice to Have
- Experience with theatrical lighting and sound equipment
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $22-$27 per hour
- FLSA Status: Non-exempt
