Tier 2 Network Administrator
Location: suffolk, Virginia (Onsite)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Tier 2 Network Administrator to support the sustained operation and maintenance of a newly deployed naval enterprise transport network. This role ensures 24/7/365 availability and reliability. The position requires technical expertise to support end-to-end network, system, and element visibility, facilitating operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning to maintain the operational integrity of a mission-critical network.
Key Responsibilities

Provide Tier 2 level engineering operations support to identify, triage, and address outages.

Utilize monitoring tools to oversee network infrastructure, performance, and availability of managed services.

Perform day-to-day maintenance, fixes, configuration corrections, and software/hardware updates.

Adhere to system and operational reporting obligations.

Operate and maintain privileged access solutions.

Maintain continuous verification of failover processes and disaster recovery procedures.

Keep firmware, software updates, and patches up to date for equipment.

Support the design, analysis, planning, modification, and maintenance of network components.

Required Qualifications
-
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Additional experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience: Two years of relevant experience supporting a large network infrastructure.
Technical Skills:
-
Layer 2 Switching
-
Routing & Switching (OSPF, BGP)
-
Palo Alto Firewalls
-
VPN / Tunnel Configuration (IPSEC tunnels)

Experience with Arista or Cisco equipment is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with SD-WAN.

Working knowledge of VLANs and VRFs.

Familiarity with Spine-Leaf Architecture.

Experience with network visibility tools such as Gigamon or NetScout.

Knowledge of Cisco ISE.

Experience with Arista CloudVision.

Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work shifts to cover a 24x7 operational environment, which may include weekends and holidays as needed.
