Job title: Threat Intelligence Analyst
About the Role Join Telefónica Tech's Threat Intelligence unit to proactively provide actionable intelligence to clients to support security strategy and risk assessments. You will conduct in-depth investigations and technical threat analysis, produce technical and executive reports, and support client teams with escalations and on‑call rotations.
What You'll Do
- Conduct investigations and technical analyses on threats of various nature.
- Provide expert escalation handling and produce technical and executive reports incorporating intelligence research methodologies; include attack vectors, Threat Actors descriptions, and related TTPs.
- Use virtual machines and sandboxes to safely analyze suspicious links or malware artifacts.
- Research and detect new forms of attacks used by adversaries relevant to the financial sector; gather information from underground forums, Deep Web and Dark Web.
- Develop broad knowledge of client environment tooling and internal procedures.
- Maintain a proactive, continuous improvement approach, seeking automation and task optimization.
- Handle specific investigation requests and provide support to Level 1 team and clients through rotating on‑call duties.
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years of experience in analytical or intelligence environments, ideally in cybersecurity.
- Desired: additional consulting experience.
- Education: degree in ICT (Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or similar).
- Desired: security certification (CTIA, GCTI, CEH, GOSI, CySA+, etc.).
- Technical knowledge: programming with scripting focus (Python, JavaScript); Regular Expressions (RegEx); Linux-based systems; configuration and administration of VMs (VMware, VirtualBox).
- Experience in threat modeling using MITRE ATT&CK.
- Experience with crawlers and web scraping.
- Ability to profile threat actors.
- Experience with ticketing tools.
- Knowledge of CTI research and analysis methodologies.
- Knowledge of current cybersecurity trends (techniques, threat actors, campaigns, etc.).
- Analytical skills and high-level writing in English and Spanish.
- Desired: Threat Hunting, forensic or malware analysis.
- For the role, teamwork, client management, willingness to learn, proactive attitude, strong communication.
- Languages: Spanish (C1+), English (B2+).
