About the Role Motorola Solutions is seeking a Test Engineer for Appliances to help validate, automate, and performance test our Avigilon software and hardware platforms as part of the appliance release readiness team. You will contribute to test plans, automation, and collaboration across teams to ensure high-quality, scalable security solutions. What You'll Do
- Define and continually improve the quality of Avigilon’s software and hardware products through ownership and maintenance of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test automation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, usable surveillance products.
- Design, measure, and report on the performance of various system components; proactively identify bottlenecks and mitigation strategies.
- Conduct exploratory testing on new features and platforms, especially AI use cases.
- Develop, document, and maintain internal testing tools to aid testing and development.
- Lead verification of resolutions for complex defects and customer issues; mentor junior team members and co-ops on technical skills and best practices. What We're Looking For
- Excellent written and oral communication; ability to produce clear documentation.
- Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking.
- Proven ability to work independently and drive projects to completion.
- Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team, often in a lead capacity.
- Strong proficiency in C#, PowerShell, Python, Linux/Shell, and IP networking.
- B.Sc or equivalent in a technical field. Nice to Have
- Experience with RAID, BIOS, Firmware, PCIe, etc.
- Prior experience installing and configuring NVRs, computers or network equipment.
- Knowledge of client/server architectures.
