Job title: Test Automation Engineer
About the Role Join the Avigilon Alta Video team to help power our mission-critical VMS infrastructure. As a Test Automation Engineer in Uxbridge, you’ll design, implement, and maintain automated tests across UI, API, and backend systems to ensure real-time performance and reliability. The role operates within a hybrid model with an office presence in Uxbridge.
What You'll Do
- Directly contribute to public safety and enterprise security by executing and assuring the quality of cutting-edge solutions.
- Work with senior engineers to support continuous quality benchmarks for real-time systems and new AI features.
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests within existing frameworks across UI, API, and backend systems.
- Assist with the execution and initial analysis of performance, load, and stress tests on high-performance systems.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to enable frequent, high-quality releases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve test failures and system issues.

- Proficiency in a modern programming language and solid engineering principles; ability to apply them to testing problems.
- Troubleshooting and debugging skills to identify and resolve test failures and system issues.
- Familiarity with CI/CD principles and practical experience contributing to pipelines.
- Bonus if you have hands-on experience with TypeScript/Playwright; soak or performance testing; Jenkins or similar tools; exposure to video platforms, streaming technologies, or media solutions; hardware automation; and Mobile/Web automation.
- Experience: 2-5 years of software engineering with knowledge of HTML, CSS, TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks; understanding of RESTful APIs and WebSockets; state management patterns and reactive data flows; strong web development principles.
- Engineering mindset with knowledge of data structures/algorithms and design patterns; ability to anticipate long-term implications of solutions.
- Remote-friendly culture: comfortable working remotely part of the week.
Nice to Have
- TypeScript/Playwright experience.
- Soak or performance testing methodologies and tools.
- Jenkins or similar scheduling/integration tools.
- Exposure to video platforms, streaming technologies, or media solutions.
- Hardware automation experience.
- Experience with Mobile and Web automation.
