Test and Validation Engineer

About the Role

Join CRFS (a Motorola Solutions Company) as a hands-on Test and Validation Engineer (RF Systems) in Cambridge. You will be at the heart of the Systems Engineering team, turning cutting-edge prototypes into mission-ready realities by balancing structured verification with rapid testing to deliver robust RF solutions. Based at our state-of-the-art facility in Cambridge (Bourn Quarter), you will join a collaborative and high-energy engineering team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of spectrum intelligence. What You'll Do

• Define and execute system-level validation plans that balance rigorous testing with delivery speed to retire risks early in the development cycle.

• Plan and conduct functional, performance, and stress testing in lab and field environments to feed critical results back into design decisions.

• Validate complete systems, ensuring that integrated hardware, RF, software, and mechanical elements perform as intended.

• Lead fault-finding investigations across multiple domains, supporting root-cause analysis from embedded to mechanical integration.

• Develop and maintain high-quality test rigs, fixtures, and automated procedures to improve repeatability and efficiency.

• Produce clear, evidence-based documentation that supports technical reviews, NPI handover, and engineering changes. What We're Looking For

• Experience in the test, validation, or integration of complex RF or electronics-based systems, preferably in an NPI or R&D environment.

• Expert hands-on experience using diagnostic tools like spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes to measure and verify RF performance.

• Methodical troubleshooting approach with a proactive ability to act as a 'devil's advocate' during the design phase.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related field.

• Practical, evidence-driven professional who is comfortable with imperfect prototypes and can balance delivery pace with verification confidence.

• Equivalent practical experience is highly valued; applications encouraged even if you don't meet 100% of the criteria. Compensation & Benefits
