About this role

The role of Territory Manager at Dr. Reddy’s in Ratnagiri involves leading environmental, health and safety (SHE) compliance and related regulatory activities. You will ensure timely reporting, risk management, and continuous improvement of safety and environmental programs across the site, coordinating with internal teams and external regulators to meet statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Submit monthly, half-yearly, and annual environmental performance reports to the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) in alignment with Consent For Operation (CFO) conditions.
  • File annual returns with the Department of Factories and ensure timely compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
  • Acquire permit-to-work authorizations, respond to legal notices, and maintain documentation to support regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct job safety analyses, hazard identification, and risk assessments across departments to proactively manage workplace risks.
  • Organize periodic safety meetings, workshops, and mock drills to educate employees and contractors on SHE guidelines and emergency preparedness.
  • Implement and maintain safe operating procedures (SOPs), update the OSHA 18001 manual, and facilitate SHE audits for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the collection, treatment, and disposal of wastewater and hazardous waste, ensuring compliance with Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) standards.
  • Monitor environmental parameters such as ambient air quality, stack emissions, wastewater, noise, and soil conditions, and initiate corrective and preventive actions to address anomalies.

Requirements

  • Educational qualifications: Graduation in Science (Chemistry) or Chemical, Industrial Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field is mandatory. Diploma in Industrial Safety (recognized by State/Central Pollution Control Boards) is mandatory.
  • Minimum experience: 3+ to 5+ years in pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing industries.
  • Skills and attributes: strong focus on regulatory compliance, detail orientation for reporting and audits, and responsiveness in incident management and corrective actions.
  • Additional capabilities include accident analysis, contractor safety, emergency response planning, fire safety, functional safety assessment, safety monitoring, site inspection, accident prevention, incident reporting, root cause analysis, vendor management, and overall workplace safety.
  • Desired exposures include experience with safety incidents, emergency response, near-miss reporting, safety inspections, hazard identification, emergency drills, permit-to-work compliance, and operation/maintenance of safety systems such as fire hydrants, gas detectors, eye wash stations, and conducting monthly safety campaigns.
