About the Role
Join AbbVie as a field-based territory role responsible for executing brand strategy in the field, managing assigned accounts, building strong customer relationships, and solving customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales while operating within AbbVie's code of conduct and all applicable laws and regulations.
What You'll Do
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in field to drive sales performance within the assigned territory and key accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc. to meet or exceed goals.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance.
- Effectively handle objections, misunderstandings, concerns and secure logical action to close on sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and build trusted relationships to achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan that optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, disease state and product knowledge; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team and sales manager to align and optimize strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers; identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
What We're Looking For
- This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Territory includes Albany + White Plains, New York and the state of Vermont.
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant experience; or at least five (5) years of industry experience in lieu of a degree; three (3) or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approach; proven track record of selling and strong presentation skills.
- Understands and leverages findings to develop sales strategies; in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource.
- Strong business acumen; proficient use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking; operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Influences others and is a credible, respected resource; builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix team.
- Demonstrates leadership and has a history of increased responsibility at district/region levels; valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; travel and overnight training/sales meetings required.
- HCIR credentialing requirements may apply; be in good standing or eligible to obtain needed credentials.
- English language proficiency (where applicable).
Nice to Have
- Proven track record of success in sales performance within respective therapeutic areas.
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience such as physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing preferred.
- English language proficiency in non-English-speaking countries.
