Teradata Architect - Banking

Job Summary

Unison Group is looking for an experienced Teradata Architect with strong Banking domain expertise to lead the design and implementation of enterprise data warehouse solutions for banking applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Teradata architecture, banking data platforms, data modelling, performance optimization, and integration with core banking and financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and lead end-to-end Teradata data warehouse architecture for banking and financial services applications.
• Translate banking business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performance data architecture solutions.
• Develop and review data models, database structures, ETL/ELT processes, and complex Teradata SQL queries.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, partitioning, workload management, and capacity planning.
• Integrate data from core banking, payments, cards, loans, customer information, and other banking systems.
• Support banking data initiatives involving regulatory reporting, financial reporting, risk management, AML, and compliance.
• Establish data architecture standards, data quality controls, data governance practices, and security requirements.
• Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, solution architects, application teams, and banking stakeholders.
• Lead technical design reviews, resolve complex data issues, and provide architectural guidance to development teams.
• Support data warehouse modernization, platform migration, and enterprise data transformation initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience as a Teradata Architect, Data Warehouse Architect, or Senior Teradata Technical Lead.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Teradata database architecture, SQL, performance tuning, and large-scale data warehousing.
• Strong knowledge of dimensional data modelling, enterprise data integration, ETL/ELT, and data warehouse design.
• Proven experience delivering data solutions within banking or financial services environments.
• Good understanding of banking data domains such as core banking, customer data, transactions, payments, cards, loans, risk, or finance.
• Experience with complex data flows, high-volume transaction data, data reconciliation, and data quality management.
• Knowledge of banking regulatory reporting, AML, risk management, or compliance data is an advantage.
• Strong technical leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with large banks or financial institutions on enterprise data warehouse projects.
• Exposure to banking platforms and integration with upstream and downstream financial systems.
• Experience in Teradata migration, modernization, cloud data platforms, or hybrid data architecture.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
