About the Role Sinclair College seeks a full-time, tenure-track Information Technology faculty member to join its Business and Public Services Division beginning Fall 2026. The role emphasizes cybersecurity, networking, cloud computing, and automation, delivering hands-on instruction and preparing students for industry certifications and local employment opportunities across three campuses (Dayton, Centerville, Mason).
What You'll Do
- Teach across multiple IT areas with emphasis on cybersecurity, networking, cloud computing, and automation.
- Deliver in-person instruction across Dayton, Centerville, and Mason campuses, aligning with industry standards and current workforce needs, and supporting students in traditional and online learning environments.
- Maintain a minimum 15 credit hour course load per semester and be available for a typical 40-hour work week with at least five office hours per week.
- Participate on department and college committees, serve as an ambassador for the program, and mentor and coach students.
- Manage day, evening, and weekend teaching assignments; incorporate hands-on, applied instruction and relevant certifications; leverage cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure, and advanced PowerShell scripting and automation for systems administration.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in IT; master's degree preferred; candidates without a master's must obtain one within a specified time.
- Minimum of three years in education or IT infrastructure.
- Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies; effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a community college environment.
- Flexible teaching availability including day, evening, and weekend classes across Dayton, Centerville, and Mason campuses, Prison Education Program campuses, and CCP partnerships as applicable.
- Ability to teach across multiple IT areas with emphasis on cybersecurity, networking, cloud computing, and automation.
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in IT preferred.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure) and PowerShell scripting/automation.
