About the Role The Business Program at Oberlin College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the College of Arts and Sciences in marketing or social psychology. Qualified candidates should situate their research and teaching within marketing, marketing strategy, and consumer behavior, and be prepared to teach core courses for the major (Introduction to Business, Marketing, Marketing Research, Marketing Strategy) as well as upper-level seminars in their area of expertise. The initial appointment will be four years beginning Fall 2027, with an additional three years upon reappointment, at the rank of Assistant Professor. This is a foundational opportunity to contribute to Oberlin's growing business major.

What You'll Do

  • Teach the standard teaching load (4.5 courses per year) in the general area of marketing strategy and consumer behavior, and be prepared to teach core major courses including Introduction to Business, Marketing, Marketing Research, and Marketing Strategy, as well as upper-level seminars within their area of expertise.
  • Engage in sustained scholarly research and/or other creative work; participate in the full range of faculty responsibilities, including academic advising, mentoring undergraduate research, and service on committees.
  • Benefit from the Department and College's support for new faculty, including mentoring and professional development opportunities, a paid pre-tenure leave for those on the standard six-year track, startup support, and internal grants for conference travel and research.

What We're Looking For

  • PhD or DBA (in hand or expected by the first semester of the 2027-28 academic year).
  • Demonstrated commitment to and potential excellence in undergraduate teaching.
  • Ability to contribute to Oberlin's distinctive academic community through research, teaching, and service.
  • Understanding of or experience working with underrepresented and diverse academic populations; commitment to an inclusive educational environment.
