About the Role The Technology Account Executive will drive Covetrus Pulse cloud-based software adoption among veterinary professionals, owning the sales cycle from lead generation to closing and post-sale follow-up. This quota-bearing role emphasizes proactive outreach, strong communication, and pipeline management to exceed quarterly targets.
What You'll Do
- Manage the sales process through the complete sales cycle from lead generation and initial prospect contact through to successful closing of deals and follow-up sales activities
- Cultivate, maintain, and enhance key customer relationships to deepen adoption of Covetrus technology products and services
- Collaborate with leaders across the Commercial and Product organizations to provide market and customer insights and suggest product enhancements
- Conduct competitive research to inform marketing campaigns and intelligence gathering
- Plan, strategize, and control all sales in the pipeline, achieving agreed-upon targets and developing sales plans to deliver against them
- Provide sales and technology expertise to prospects and share best practices across the North America Sales Organization
- Establish contacts with decision makers across the industry to increase adoption of Pulse and other tech products
- Manage all sales activities in Salesforce.com and maintain accurate forecasts
- Leverage cross-functional teams as needed to close deals
- Perform additional duties to support team and company objectives
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in sales or business development
- 7+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in a quota-carrying sales role; animal health tech experience is a plus
- Proven track record of generating own leads and exceeding quarterly/annual quotas
- Ability to create dynamic product and pricing packages for complex technical solutions
- Strong negotiation and objection-handling skills
- Experience with Salesforce.com and forecasting
- SaaS sales experience; ERP sales experience a bonus
- Industry experience in Animal Health or Human Health is a plus
- Willingness to travel up to 65% for meetings, field visits, and training; attendance at annual national and regional sales meetings is expected
Nice to Have
- Previous ERP sales experience
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified Sales Professional)
- Demonstrated track record in software/SaaS sales within agile organizations
- Experience in Research, Quality Control, Budgeting, Auditing, or Procurement/Purchasing
