About the Role Tech Mahindra is seeking a Technician VI Tier 3 for an onsite contract role in Sunnyvale, CA. The role supports engineering activities including test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electronic boards and systems, electro-mechanical systems, and experimental design circuitry or specialized test equipment. What You'll Do
- Perform hand assembly and disassembly of SMT & BGA components.
- Work from schematics, diagrams, written or verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform detailed rework.
- Determine methods to rework boards and/or systems.
- Assist in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment.
- Use test, development or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs and specialized test apparatus.
- Build new test stations and troubleshoot failed test stations.
- Repair boards with failed, wrong or mis-inserted components, solder shorts, open traces and other problems.
- Provide failed components and boards to engineering for evaluation.
- Perform ECO & repair rework as required on PCBs (SMT and TH).
- Rework includes wiring, component removal & reinstallation, etch and pad restoration for SMT and TH. What We're Looking For
- 5-10 years of experience in rework of SMT & BGA or small footprint components.
- Ability to perform high-level quality rework requiring inspection utilizing microscopes and soldering hand tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work under high-stress situations.
- Ability to balance and prioritize individual work to best support engineering needs and minimize testing downtime.
- Experience building new test stations and troubleshooting failed test stations.
- PCB repair experience including handling ECOs and rework on PCBs. Nice to Have
- Experience with through-hole technology (TH) and surface-mount technology (SMT) rework. Compensation & Benefits
- Pay rate: $20/hr - $25/hr (Contract, 6 months).
