Role Overview

• The Technician is to undertake a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure.
• The job will involve installing electrical wires, troubleshooting malfunctions and blackouts, and repairing appliances. Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, the job holder must also be first and foremost be a responsible individual with great attention to safety precautions.
• The job holder must also be experienced in different kinds of electrical devices and systems.

Key Functions / Responsibilities

• Maintenance of Office Power Supply.
• Maintenance of Electrical Gadgets and installation in the office.
• Preliminary maintenance of Generators in the Head Office and Managing Director’s Residence.
• Maintaining Marshall and their operations, including maintenance of their panels
• Wiring and installation of electrical equipment in the Head Office building.
• Routine check and filling of diesel on the Generators. Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, intercom, and other electrical systems.
• Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.).
• Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks, ensuring compatibility of components.
• Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc.
• Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units in the Head Office and the Managing Director’s Residence.
• Ensure that the Cold room is working perfectly
• Ensure that the Cold room temperature is in perfect condition by taking daily readings.
• Liaise with the Stock-Keeper and check the temperature before the beginning of daily sales.
• Handling the maintenance of all air conditioners and ensuring that they are working well.
• Handling the generating set with other staff in the Technical Department.
• Taking diesel records when supplying and sending reports accordingly.
• Any other duties assigned by the Head of the Technical Department.
• And any other duties assigned by Management.

Competency and Skills Required

• Proven experience as an electrician
• Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems
• Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints
• Thorough knowledge of electrical safety procedures
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts.

Renumeration

N250,000 – N300,000 Gross Monthly.
