Role Overview
The Robotic Technician is responsible for programming, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial robotic systems used in automotive manufacturing. The role involves supporting both new robot installations and existing production cells while improving automation processes and mentoring other robotics technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, configure, and commission industrial robots and robotic cells.
- Develop and maintain robot templates, program structures, and automation platforms.
- Perform offline robot programming and simulation.
- Configure robot I/O, weld interfaces, and communication systems.
- Troubleshoot robotic, electrical, and automation issues.
- Support continuous improvement projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics.
- Ensure robotic systems comply with safety standards.
- Train and support junior robotics programmers and technicians.
- Travel to customer sites for installation and technical support as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on industrial robot programming experience.

Strong experience with Fanuc robots (required).

Experience with KUKA and/or Motoman robots (preferred).

Offline robot simulation

Diploma, certificate, or degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.

Understanding of robotic safety standards (CSA Z434 and ANSI/RIA R15.06 / ISO 10218-2).

Work Environment
- Based in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
- Combination of office and manufacturing shop floor work.
- Overtime may be required.
- Extended travel to customer sites.
Compensation
- Pay: CAD $37–$46 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
