CBS News Chicago is in search of a skilled and experienced news production talent. Ideal candidate will have an expert understanding of local news production. Candidate will have both field, studio and transmission experience. Will support broadcast and multi-platform social media strategies and cbschicago.com. Studio duties included but not limited to teleprompter, jib operator, editing, transmission control and field duties including professional operation of broadcast cameras, drones, digital microwave, non-linear editing systems, and IP based broadcast applications.
This is a per diem position.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Candidates should demonstrate knowledge and experience with all aspects of ENG news and studio production, including Sony HD cameras, Edius non-linear editing, jib, teleprompter and lighting.
- Safely operating company vehicles, including microwave equipped vans and trucks, on potentially long drives in all weather conditions.
- Bring creativity and imagination to the job of broadcast storytelling
- Ensure that all daily show production deadlines are met
- Take extreme care to ensure that news equipment is protected from theft and damage.
- Consistently contribute to editorial process in team environment with story ideas and attention to production strategy.
- Other duties, as assigned.
- All shifts including, nights, weekends, early mornings and holidays.
- Will fill shifts based on production needs including vacation relief.
